Industrial standard and telecentric lenses
Image quality is strongly influenced by the optics. The optics must be flexible, in order to be able to be used for various different tasks and at the same time remain robust and precise under the hardest production conditions.
These demands are more than met by the vicotar lens series. Vision & Control remains the only manufacturer to offer an exhaustive range of optics for digital Machine Vision: lenses for simple to highly complex inspection tasks, from small to large with an extensive range of accessories.
|
Standard (entocentric lenses)
- image scale varies with distance (far away objects look smaller)
- not suitable for accurate measuring tasks
|
Telecentric
- image scale does not vary with distance
- ideal for accurate measurement tasks
- ideal for inspecting objects with depth & holes (i.e. deep honeycomb sections, turned/formed parts etc

Advantages
Model variety
a vicotar lens for every task. The lengths and working distances are optimised for Machine Vision. A large range of accessories: filters, beam deflectors and mirror adapters for coaxial lighting.
Robust design
means that vicotar lenses are also more than tough enough to deal with harsh industrial conditions. Well defined mounting methods and lockable adjustment elements look after reliable functioning, even under difficult conditions, and avoid unnecessary mechanical adjustment. Simple and stable mounting!
High quality imaging
the high quality imaging of vicotar lenses ensures simple and reliable test programs. High-speed optical design.
Telecentric imaging
means freedom from perspective in the image. That is a requirement for stable measuring that is independent of working distance. Optically difficult test objects (glass, reflective objects) can also be inspected.
A wide spectrum of telecentric lenses, from micro to telephoto are available. These are designed to work with optimally with vicolux range of telecentric lighting from Vision & Control.
New design
Vision & Control has been active in producing innovative Machine Vision optics for 15 years. In addition to their introduction of telecentric lenses to the market at the beginning of the 1990s, they have been responsible for other groundbreaking developments:
Wide-field lenses for telecentric inspection of large objects, the inspection of machined holes by non-invasive optics, hypercentric lenses as well as lenses with extreme perspective properties.
Vicotar lenses have made possible the use of Machine Vision in application areas which have previously been inaccessible.
